I’m sorry, I am. But I hate this whole month. I don’t like horror books, or movies, I think dressing up is a stupid exercise, and I am enough of an introvert that the idea of strange people ringing my doorbell asking for candy is kind of horrifying.
I mean, I do it. I hand out the candy and tell the kids that they are cute. I‘m not a monster. Doesn’t mean that I don’t look forward to the time when I can just turn the damn porch light off and go back to my (decidedly non-horror) book.
Yeah. I’m the Scrooge of Halloween.
So this topic is easy for me. Which book character would I dress up as? None.
Bah. Humbug.
However, here’s a freebie for you from last year—
What is your favorite candy to snack on while reading? (Submitted by Billy at The Caffeinated Writer)
I am obsessed with these—

It probably doesn’t help my obsession that they are ridiculously hard to find. But they are the perfect candy to munch on while reading. They are coated in granulated sugar, which brushes off your fingers easily. They are a little chewy…but they won’t pull your crowns off. They are both Sweet and Tart. They are not sticky, and they don’t melt. Perfection.
So, readers, what is your favorite Halloween treat?

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book-related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog
ANY chocolate! Plus I feel you. I’m not much of a horror/Halloween mood reader so I just read what I want this month 😊

Haha I love October and Halloween (although I’m not really a horror fan, more of a suspense fan) but I totally get that. And oh my gosh I love those. Those and Junior Mints were my faves.

Prefer something more savory while snacking; so I’d probably go for some flavor of potato chip over any kind of candy. Though the last thing I snacked on while reading was Trader Joe’s Everything but the Bagel nut duo.

I feel you are my transatlantic twin because I feel exactly the same. I have refused to go to parties that are fancy dress, why would I want to willingly go out looking like an idiot and feeling even more awkward than usual? Horror is the last genre I would willingly read and thankfully, whilst it is gaining in popularity, Trick or Treating isn’t as big over here so I can close my gates and curtains and pretend that I’m not in!
