This week’s topic comes from Rachel @ A Bookworm in Paradise, who asks:
Is blogging a good platform for making friends? Is it only new bloggers that are going to make friends with one another? Does blogging allow for connecting with people of different ages and different backgrounds? How easy or hard has it been for you to make friends through blogging?
I am not sure if blogging, in general, is a good platform for making friends. I’ve blogged off and on for twenty years, and, until this blog, never really made any friends that way.
I think a better question is “Is blogging in a tight-knit community of people who share a passion a good way to make friends?” And the answer to that question is a hearty hell, yes.
What’s neat is that every interaction I have had here has been positive. Book people really are The Best, and every like, every follow, every comment has put a Big Damn Grin™️ on my face.
But the regulars, the one who post all the time…those guys are not only responsible for grins, but for the occasional squeal. Possibly a clap or two.
So…Tessa. Greg. Wendy. Louise. Dini. Susan. You guys are the best.
(And so they don’t feel slighted, mad thanks to my IRL buddies Steve and Jon who are here every freaking day, making sure I feel seen. Gosh, you’re swell.)
