Hello, my lovelies.
Today was all about cooking and games, as is the case on a least one Sunday a month. I tried two new recipes, and played four not-new games.
The first thing I tried was a honey-balsamic chicken in the instant pot, which was incredible. But it was eclipsed by the Asiago and Mascarpone Polenta with Rosemary that I made up as a side. That was restaurant-quality goodness, right there.
My late husband always used to say that to me when I cooked something otherworldly. He‘d say ‘someday, when we open that restaurant, that’s going on the menu.’
So, someday…that polenta is definitely going on the menu.
Other than that, it was a pretty boring week. I reorganized the baker’s rack and cleaned out the dishwasher. And at the end of the day, I leaned the wrong way and threw out my back. So as soon as I publish this, I have a date with a muscle relaxer.

I read ten books this week, most really quick (obviously!) romances.

I reviewed the delightfully twisty The Paradox Hotel this week, so not much to add there. I read the entire Miles Family Series by Claire Kingsley, and the Tal Bauer-penned You and Me about a couple of grown-up Dads falling in love while volunteering for their sons’ football boosters club. Finally, End Game/End Zone were two bi-awakenings set in a an alternate-universe NFL, and Roommate Arrangement featured a contrived roommate situation. I don’t think that there was a bad book in the bunch.

OK, that’s all from the 52 Physical Therapy room, where the muscle relaxers are getting antsy.
Till next week, stay safe, DO NOT bend the wrong way, and make a new recipe. Preferably something with way too much cheese.

Oh, I sure hope your back feels better soon. Honey-balsamic chicken and Asiago and Mascarpone Polenta with Rosemary sound yummy. Let me know if you ever open that restaurant!

I hope your back feels better soon! The thought of the dishes you made has my mouth absolutely watering. 🤤 You read so many books—Claire Kingsley is an author that’s on my TBR that I haven’t tried yet but look forward to. Those alternate universe bi-awakening NFL books sound really interesting too! Have a great week ahead!
