This week’s question comes from Julie @ Stepping Stone Book Reviews who asks—
What inspired you to start book blogging?
I’m sure I have told some version of this story before, but basically about ten years ago, my kid brother, undoubtedly sick of listening to me drone on about ANOTHER book I loved, said ”You should start a blog. You could talk about all those books you read.”
So, I did, but I had no idea what I was doing. The blog lasted just a few weeks before I got tired of no one reading it.
And then last year, I was talking to a friend and fellow blogger who goaded me a little into restarting it. So I dusted off the old entries, repurposed them in the beginning so I would have some immediate content, and stumbled into this amazing community.
It’s been MUCH more satisfying this time around. 🙂
What about you? If you are a book blogger, why?

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book-related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog
It is an amazing community. I had retired, and then COVID hit, and I just wanted something to keep my busy. I didn’t know I would enjoy it this much.

Your kid brother made a very good suggestion. 🙂 As for myself, I started blogging because I wanted to read – and publish – Harry Potter fanfiction!

I had similar reasoning! I felt like I always had so much to say about what I was reading and no one who really understood! But then I started blogging and found an amazing community who wanted to hear what I thought 🙂

I started mine kind of for the same reason. I swear I can’t find many people who read the same genre as me that lives close to me!

What genre do you read? I am a mystery/thriller and romance girl, myself.
