This week, Elley @ Elley the Book Otter wants us to talk about Dynamic Duos.
The thing that I both love the most, and find most frustrating about Top Ten Tuesday is the lack of specificity in the prompts. I struggled for a bit about what the term “Dynamic Duo” means to me. I may have mentioned the list to a friend, whereupon I was told quite unequivocally that I could not make this list without Sherlock and Watson in it.
Guess what? Yeah, no Sherlock to be found. I’m a rebel that way.
No, some of these are romantic duos. Some are best friends. And in the case of one cranky Canadian poet, they defy explanation. Some of them are the focus of an entire series. Some are supporting characters.
What they have in common, though, is that they all raise the bar on the series they are in. They make the series better. More real. They are all at least one of the reasons I keep coming back.
Realizing that you may not have read the same books I did, I tried to find a quote that would give you some idea why I love them so. In most cases, I didn’t find the perfect quote. The Internet is maddening that way. But I tried to at least give you an idea of why I find these ten so swoon-worthy.
So, here they are, in no particular order:

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Wow, you thought of a lot of answers.
Did you make your graphics in Canva? They’re nice. 🙂

I chuckled at the mention of a “mad Canadian poet” since I knew immediately who you meant! I thought you were going to mention her and her duck, but I love that you chose Jean-Guy. Their relationship is hilarious. It definitely gives the series more life and color.
Happy TTT!

I love how you answered this with quotes! I tried to be different and went for partners, whether in work or love, and asked visitors to try to name the author. Of course several might be difficult to come up with. Re; your duos, I’ve read Coben, Penny, Crais, Briggs and enjoyed them all!

I’d forgotten that Urban Fantasy has such great dynamic duos (and also mystery books!). I love the ones from Ilona Andrews and Briggs, but all the rest too are so good. Love the way you’ve presented the quotes too!

If I’d written a list this week, Mercy and Adam would certainly have been at the top! They’re so great together romantically as well as in their roles as leaders of the pack. Excellent choice! It makes me happy to see Evelyn and Harry here too. Great list!

This is a great interpretation of the questions and so cleverly put together.
