Today’s question comes to us from Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews, who asks:
How many books have you read this year?
The short answer is 167, so far.
I do expect to read anywhere between 7 and 10 more, so I expect to skate in at about 175 for the year. This is by far the most books I have read in a year since I graduated from middle-grade books, back in the 70s. Before this year, the most I had read as and adult was 107, in 2016.
I read so much this year because I became disabled in January. I always said that if I couldn’t work, I would read ALL THE BOOKS.
Guess I was right about that.

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book-related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog
Good number! We are running about the same – maybe even exactly the same. So many good books ❤️

I don’t know what to set for next year’s goal now, though. Do I stretch? Is 200 possible? 😬

Other book bloggers do reach numbers over 200 but I have no idea how. My goal was only 104, so if I go up closer to what I read that will be good, I guess. Maybe 175.

Looks like you had a great reading year! Congrats! I have read 117 books so far. My goal is 120, but I think I will pass that.

I just completed my goal of 135, but will probably knock out at least a couple more by end of year. (Though next one queued up to start is a history, and those always take longer than novels of equivalent length. It’s ‘Boom Town: The Fantastical Saga of Oklahoma City, Its Chaotic Founding… Its Purloined Basketball Team, and the Dream of Becoming a World-class Metropolis by Sam Anderson ‘)

If there is a silver lining to the cloud of disability, being able to read all the books hopefully brings some joy and happiness. I’m going to hit around 150 – 160, depending on how I count beta-reads and DNF’s! Merry Christmas x
