Hello, my lovelies.
Usually, these posts go up early in the day. I like to write in the morning, and so I usually publish around 10, or before lunch at the latest. But today was a Very Exciting Day here at Casa 52, so we are beeee-hind.
The week was interesting. I had Stuff To Do the last two weekends in a row, so this week was spent largely recharging. For those of you who know what Spoon Theory is, I started the week in the hole by about a dozen. I’d say that by this morning, I was about back to a normal spoon level, but now my sciatica is acting up.

As I told my bestie this morning, I am not finding my fifties to be an optimal timeline.
Oh! Why is it a Very Exciting Day? I went to the Apple Store, and traded in two old MacBooks and an old iPad and bought the blog a brand-spanking new iPad Pro, one of the 12.9” ones. I wanted to be able to use split screen without the splits being the size of postage stamps, so…
I admit to a moment of abject panic when I slid the Amex into the little portable stealer of my money. Like I almost was like, no…no, just forget it. I’ll take back all my old scraggly equipment and run. But I am selling my camera equipment, which more than pays for it, so…I pushed through.
And it’s awesome.

I read six books this week, which is both a product of the excessive resting, and also because they were all RomComs.
They were all really good. I especially loved Faking Ms. Right by Claire Kingsley, which just reminded me of all those great movies from the 80s. The second book in that series, Falling For My Enemy was not nearly as good. I liked Room(Hate) and In a New York Minute just fine, loved Forbidden, and thought that By A Thread was 50 pages too long. You know how I feel about ruthless editing. Most books need it. Very few get it. I’ll probably talk more about one of these during a Wednesday review.
OK, that’s all from the 52 Drawing Room. Gotta finish setting up this iPad.
Till next week, stay safe, read something awesome and hug a dog.

You can’t beat a good rom-com, I can’t believe you read 6 in one week – I think I’d have been burnt out by that! Enjoy the new ipad and I hope you have plenty of “spoons” this week.
