This week’s question comes to us from Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books, who asks:
What spooky creature and/or setting do you never get tired of reading about?
Because this is an October prompt, I reckon I’m supposed to be talking about monsters of the Frankenstein or zombie variety. But I—much to the chagrin of my buddy over at castle Blogferatu—don’t read horror.
Oh, I occasionally dabble in a spooky, atmospheric thriller. But true, pulse-pounding, crawl-under-the-seat horror? No. No.
Really, no.
What I do read (obv) is Urban Fantasy, and of that, I never tire. Vampires. Shifters. Witches. Necromancers. Faeries. All those things are great by me.
So, how do you like your creatures? Scary? Or more scary-adjacent? If you wanna crawl out from under that blanket, I’ll take your thoughts in the comments.

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book-related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog
I don’t read a lot of fantasy, so the monsters I usually come upon on the human variety and with crime, they can be pretty nasty.

I don’t do scary books either but I do love witches, magic and demons in PNR and UF books.

I don’t read a lot of urban fantasy but I do like the concepts- isn’t that weird? Loved the Kitty series by Carrie Vaughn. anyway yeah i like vampires, and well done faerie stories as well… werewolves too. Even though I don’t read about ’em much.
